Dear Reader,

This year is flying by. I can't believe it's almost Easter! Any last minute sewing/quilting that you're working on? I have a sewing project that I need to finish for Easter...it's goin really well at the moment.

In other less-stressful-than-last-minute sewing-projects news, it's time for our month newsletter again. This issue starts with my favourite quilt kits of all time! We're also gearing up for several in-person events in the next few months. More details below!

For this month's freebie, Meg has created a worksheet for calculating the yardage you'll need for an HST quilt. It includes instructions on how to use the sheet and we'll be releasing an accompanying blog post soon!

Rose Garden Quilt Kits

In case you missed it, we recently launched these Rose Garden Quilt Kits featuring my Laura's 4-Patch quilt pattern. This is a great quilt kit for the Confident Beginner. The pattern does assume basic knowledge of quilting, but there's no crazy techniques or skills required. What's Upcoming

It's less than a month away now! We'll be at the Sunshine Fibre Fest in Orillia, ON on May 3rd. This is a one-day event so if you miss it on the 3rd of May, you'll miss it till next year! I'll have details closer to the time on where our booth is located, etc.

Want to place an order for pickup at Sunshine Fibre Fest? Leave a note at checkout saying that you want to pickup at Sunshine Fibre Fest and then choose curb-side pickup as your shipping option.

You might also want to add June 7th and 8th to your calendar. We'll be at the Stitching Among Friends Quilt Show in Alliston, ON on these dates.

04 Quilting Questions

Q: When using bamboo batting (80 percent bamboo and 20 percent cotton), what is the maximum spacing that can be left not quilted? (OR how far apart should the quilting be?) - Mariette

A: Most batting manufacturers recommend no more than 8" apart for bamboo blends.

For anyone out there with batting questions, you'll be happy to know that we're working on a blog post about batting and how to choose the right batting for your project! That'll be coming up some time this month, so be looking for that!
